1. Prostesi di [a]- in verbi e sostantivi

In genovese è particolarmente frequente la prostesi – cioè l’aggiunta in posizione iniziale – di una vocale [a]- in molte forme verbali. Questi verbi possono quindi presentarsi in doppia forma, ad esempio: arregordâ [areɡurˈdaː] ~ regordâ [reɡurˈdaː] “ricordare”; addeuviâ [adøːˈvjaː] ~ deuviâ [døːˈvjaː] “usare”; allevâ [aleˈvaː] ~ levâ [leˈvaː] “levare, togliere”; ammiâ [aˈmjaː] ~ miâ [ˈmjaː] “guardare”; arrecheugge [areˈkødʒˑe] ~ recheugge [reˈkødʒˑe] “raccogliere”. Sebbene in origine questo fenomeno potesse forse avere funzione intensificativa, nella pratica entrambe le forme – con o senza la vocale iniziale – sono equivalenti e non comportano alcuna variazione di significato. Il fenomeno riguarda anche alcuni sostantivi deverbali, come arregòrdo [areˈɡɔːrdu] ~ regòrdo [reˈɡɔːrdu] “ricordo”, allevamacce [ale(ː)vaˈmatʃˑe] ~ levamacce [ale(ː)vaˈmatʃˑe] “smacchiatore” o arrecuggeita [arekyˈdʒejta] ~ recuggeita [rekyˈdʒejta] “raccolta”. Anche in questi casi, di norma le due forme non implicano differenze di significato. Nel DEIZE, le forme con o senza prostesi di [a]- sono lemmatizzate nella forma ritenuta più frequente nell’uso generale.
